South Korea's LED manufacturer Seoul Semiconductor Co. Ltd. recently announced that Seoul Semiconductor and European Tridonic Atco Optoelectronics GmbH (TOE) and its partners have reached a cross-licensing agreement on the use of silicate phosphors for white LEDs.
Phosphorus is an indispensable raw material for the production of white LEDs. More importantly, white LEDs using ilicate system phosphors are widely mentioned in numerous patents and are significantly different from ordinary LEDs that use other phosphorus-containing compounds.
With the cross-licensing agreement, Seoul Semiconductor can expand and accelerate its research and development capabilities by producing and selling white LEDs using silicate phosphors, thereby enhancing Seoul Semiconductor's industry position.
Based on this agreement, Seoul Semiconductor White LED patents and related protocols using silicate phosphors will be protected. Customers of Seoul Semiconductor can use this white LED with peace of mind.
