Pokemon Go has been known as "the most successful mobile game" sweeping the world, and recently, its developer Niantic's CEO John Hank also expressed his views on the field of VR and AR.
Niantic's philosophy has always been to get players to get up from the couch and move to the real world. At this point, Hank believed that AR (Augmented Reality) is paying tribute to this idea.
For the immersive medium of the AR and VR, two completely different ways of operating, Hank said that he thinks one of the potentials is far greater than the other:
"I think AR's enjoyment and prospects are much higher than those of VR. From a technical and human perspective, in the VR environment, people must be isolated from others and fully enter the virtual world." It is used to multiply and promote human daily activities: for example, going out, socializing with other people, shopping, playing, and having fun. All these can be used to get a better experience through AR."
