New "light-emitting glass" triggers new reform of lamps

Thomas Ereel, the designer of the French lighting design company SAAZS, has created a beautiful luminaire, but it doesn't have to be changed for life. This design uses Planilum technology, unlike general lighting technology, which does not come from a light bulb or light source, but the material itself. No light bulbs are needed and no light source is required. The light is evenly covered on the surface of the material, and the temperature is close to the human body temperature.

The new material is a new type of "light-emitting glass". There is no need to configure a lampshade or the like like a conventional luminaire, but only one such "glass plate" is needed to achieve illumination. Each Planilum is only 2 cm thick and consists of four layers of special glass. It is sufficient to fill the void with a rare gas and a corresponding pattern. Its lighting life can reach 50,000 hours. And 90% of the material can be recycled. Not only that, when this kind of electric light is on, it does not emit high temperature like traditional lamps, you can touch it directly without getting burned. A 100-watt "glass panel" can illuminate a room of about 40 square meters.
