Daimler has announced that South Korea's SK Innovation will become a key supplier of power batteries for its electric vehicles. Currently, SK Group has a production capacity of 1.9 GWh and plans to expand by adding two new production lines, increasing the total capacity by 1 GWh. Once fully operational, SK’s battery production in 2018 is expected to reach 4 GWh. This partnership highlights Daimler’s growing commitment to electrification and its efforts to secure reliable battery supply chains.
