As a packaging material for LEDs, the gas permeability is reduced to about 1/100 of the methyl silicon used previously and about 1/10 of that of phenyl silicon. As a result, it is possible to prevent the intrusion of oxygen in the air, thereby preventing oxidative corrosion of the peripheral parts of the LED chip. Its refractive index is as high as 1.57, which can improve the light extraction rate. For the product, "ASP-1010A/B" having a hardness of 55 (SHORED) and "ASP-1020A/B" having a hardness of 65 (Durometer A) are available.
