International Lighting City Association (LUCI) successfully held in Gwangju, South Korea


On October 19-20, 2009, the International Lighting City Association (LUCI) successfully held its 2009 annual meeting in Gwangju, South Korea. The annual meeting was hosted by Jong-Man Choi, Vice Mayor of Gwangju City, and Jean-Michel Daclin, Vice Mayor of Li City. At the opening, 110 representatives from 25 cities and institutions attended the annual meeting. The conference held keynote speeches and discussions on topics such as “Korean Light”, “Culture and Light”, “Sustainable Development”, “City Strategy” and “Technology Development and Trends”, Tianjin Cityscape and Garden Management Committee Director Chen Daqing and Manager of Guangzhou Yangguang Culture Communication Co., Ltd. Ke Jianmin shared the status and development trend of LED streetlight technology in Tianjin and even China with urban lighting managers. Today, the International Lighting City Association has developed 59 city members and 30 joint members. Among them, there are 7 new city members and 13 joint members in 2009.

Hosted by Alexandre Colombani, General Manager of LUCI, the conference summarized the activities of 2009, including the “Cinema under the Microscope” event held in Montreal, Canada in May and Geneva, Switzerland in May, and the “Light of the Future” in Lyon in May. "The conference, the Urban Lighting Strategy Conference held in Guangzhou in June "has given the city a new lighting master plan", the "Urban Planning Forum" held in Berlin, Germany in October and other events held around the world. In addition, LUCI has collaborated with the Professional Lighting Designers Association (PLDA) to successfully recommend professional lighting designers to projects in 2 city members and 3 institutions.

Since 2008, THORN Thorn Lighting and LUCI have established the LIGHTLINK (Light Chain) project to help a poor city develop lighting construction through sustainable lighting to promote its economy and society. development of. The first lighting chain project links the city of Lyon, France, to the city of Jericho, Israel. The project will be officially launched in the first quarter of 2010, involving the sustainability of public lighting in Jericho, increasing its history with lighting. The characteristics of the building promote the development of its tourism and cultural industries and improve the living environment of the city. The second chain of lighting projects will bring together the city of Glasgow, England and the Amatole district of Cape Town, South Africa.

Finland's Jyväskylä was awarded the first prize, and La Qianrong of Hangzhou and Switzerland won the second prize. The lighting project of the Hangzhou Canal won high praise from the conference. Yang Lanbiao, deputy mayor of Hangzhou, The deputy secretary-general of the Hangzhou Municipal Government stated that he went to Gwangju to attend the awarding ceremony and received the international award on behalf of Hangzhou.

After the end of the annual meeting, LUCI members were also invited to visit Gwangju, Incheon and Seoul to inspect urban lighting. The annual LUCI Annual Meeting brings the opportunity for members to come together. The exchanges between different cities and different institutions are passionate and merge into a resounding symphony of light.

*Max. permissible continuous operating temperature of conductor:

l  PVC Insulation type: 0℃

l  XLPE Insulation type:  90℃

l  PTFE Insulation type: 40℃~200℃

l  XLPO Insulation type: 125℃

*The ambient temperature under installation should not be lower than 0℃, if the ambient temperature is below 0℃,the cable should be preheated.
