Radeon HD 6900 series slowed down at the last moment, in fact, the underlying reason is simple, just a specific new component provided by Texas Instruments (TI) out of stock.

It is understood that this new component is an Integrated Driver-MOSFET (DrMOS) and is also used in the released Radeon HD 6800 series. The component was introduced by Texas Instruments not long ago. There is no relevant information on the Internet, and there is no description on the official website of Texas Instruments.

Because of the short production time, the supply of this DrMOS is very limited, and the VRM power supply design used in the Radeon HD 6900/6800 series is basically the same. This little guy is used. The result is naturally in short supply, which directly leads to the Radeon HD 6970. The production time is delayed, and partners naturally cannot get new cards.

Not only that, AMD also deliberately hid the new card's BIOS in its own hands and has not yet distributed it to its partners. Is the flaw still not perfect? Still based on GeForce GTX 580's situation to make further adjustments and optimizations to achieve better performance? This can only guess.

The Radeon HD 6900 series was originally scheduled to be released on November 22, but it has now been temporarily changed to November 29, which is a week later but still in November.
