For the domestic LED lighting industry, how to deal with the risk of patent litigation from foreign competitors has become a common topic. In this regard, relevant people at home and abroad have also put forward various coping strategies. However, few of them can be implemented in a short period of time with lower difficulty and produce the expected results faster. In view of this, the author through the research and analysis of domestic LED lighting related patents, especially the invention patent (application) situation, while referring to the relevant institutions on the domestic LED lighting patent statistics, proposed a possible easier implementation, and is expected to be Respond to the current severe patent situation in a short period of time, that is, strengthen the exchanges and cooperation between domestic LED lighting companies and domestic universities and research institutes, especially in the field of patents, so as to achieve a win-win situation.
In order to help domestic LED lighting related companies to more accurately understand the patents (applications) held by domestic scientific research institutions, the author has made preliminary preliminary research on the invention patents (applications) for LED lighting held by the Chinese Academy of Sciences system. Analyze, and in this article, further detailed analysis and explanation of the LED lighting patents held by domestic universities.
Since 1985 (as of March 2012), domestic universities have applied for approximately 3,399 patents related to LED lighting (this data does not include patent applications, utility model patents and design patents that have not yet been published (notice). ). Among them, 1914 are invention patents, 1406 are utility model patents, and 75 are design patents. Moreover, the number of invention patents and utility model patent applications in each year has been showing a rapid growth trend, and the number of design patent applications has also increased since 2009 (see Figure 1).
