For Samsung V2 screens, the self-test method involves removing all Changhong circuit boards and shorting pins 3 and 4 of the CN802 socket on the power board (pin 4 being the ground for POWER-ON/OFF). This simulates the user pressing the power button, as the signal comes from the motherboard CPU's secondary power-on control. Then, by switching the logic board's SW2001 toggle switch from the external mode (1, 2, 4, 3) to internal mode (self-test mode: 1, 3 up, 2, 4), you can check if the screen lights up. If it shows a full white field, the issue may be with the Changhong motherboard or video processing board. If no image appears or the white field is not displayed, the screen itself or its components are likely faulty.

The Samsung V3 screen uses a similar method but with different pin numbers. Shorting pins 3 and 4 of the CN9004 socket on the V3 screen allows the power supply board to output voltage. The toggle switch settings and positions required to display the full white field remain the same as the V2 screen.

For the Samsung V4 screen, disconnect all screen and signal board connections, then short pins 3 and 4 of the CN8007 socket and pins 3 and 4 of the CN2034 socket on the logic board. At this point, the plasma screen should display a full white field. If not, the screen is likely faulty.

For the S42SD-YD09 (V5 screen), follow these steps: (1) Short the two jumpers at CN2001 (pins 3 and 4) on the logic board horizontally. (2) Short the PS-ON pin to the ground pin in the third socket on the left side of the power supply board (shorting pin 8 and 9 of CN8003). (3) Remove all Changhong signal boards. (4) A full white field should appear after powering on.

For the S50HW-YD01 model, the process is: (1) Short the CN2012 on the logic board. (2) Short the PS-ON pin of CN8003 on the power supply board to ground.

For the S50HW-YD02 (W2 screen), follow these steps: (1) Short the two jumpers at CN2007 (pins 3 and 4) vertically. (2) Short pin 8 and pin 9 of the power board’s CN8003 socket to ground, enabling a second boot. (3) Remove all Changhong signal boards. (4) After powering on, 7 color patterns (such as red square, blue field, etc.) should appear.

For the LGV7 screen, first disconnect all cables from the Changhong motherboard, AV board, and power supply auxiliary board. Then connect the AC input directly to the CN101 input terminal of the LG power board. Disconnect resistor R407 on the logic board (Logicmain), and after powering on, test images (such as various test cards) should appear on the screen.
