Panasonic has announced that it plans to increase its LED bulb revenue from 20 billion yen in 2009 to 20 billion yen in 2012, which is more than 10 times that of 2009.
Panasonic entered the Japanese household LED bulb market in October 2009, and currently the domestic market in Japan accounts for about 30%.
Panasonic is also actively planning the overseas business of energy-saving bulb-type fluorescent lamps. It plans to increase the proportion of overseas revenue of bulbs/fluorescent lamps from 4% in 2009 to 30% in fiscal 2012. In 2011, we will start selling LED bulbs overseas in Asia.
At present, Panasonic's overseas Indonesia factory is mainly used to produce LED bulbs and fluorescent lamps, and the mainland plant will start production in October 2010.
