Huawei's promotional posters in Europe suggest that on March 27, at least two new models of the P20 and P20 Pro will be unveiled. The highlight of the event is still the new Leica lens, which continues to generate excitement among tech enthusiasts.
According to insider information from well-known leaker Roland Quandt, who obtained details from a European retailer, the P20 will start with 32GB of storage and feature a 16MP main camera. The P20 Plus (later corrected to P20 Pro) will begin with 64GB storage and come with an upgraded 18MP main camera. There's also a P20 Lite model, featuring 32GB of storage and a 16MP sensor.
In terms of color options, the new devices are expected to come in black, blue, and purple variants.
However, Roland emphasized that this information is based solely on the European market and comes from retailers, so it should not be taken as 100% confirmed.
Considering current rumors, the key difference between the dual-camera P20 and the triple-camera P20 Pro may lie in the main camera, which could be upgraded to 18MP. This improvement might lead to noticeable differences in photo quality and video performance.
Currently, the highest camera score for Huawei on DxOMark is the Mate 10 Pro, which earned 100 points overall and 97 in the photography category. Meanwhile, the iPhone X scores 101, and the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus has 104. With the rumored improvements, many are wondering if the P20 Pro can surpass these benchmarks.
