Huawei's teaser posters in Europe suggest that on March 27, two new models of the P20 and P20 Pro will be unveiled. The highlight of the event is expected to be the new Leica lens, which continues to be a central focus for the brand.
According to insider information from well-known leaker Roland Quandt, who obtained details from retailers, the P20 will start with 32GB of storage and feature a 16-megapixel main camera. The P20 Plus (later corrected to P20 Pro) will begin at 64GB, with an upgraded 18-megapixel main camera. Additionally, a P20 Lite model is also expected, featuring 32GB of storage and a 1600 CMOS sensor.
In terms of color options, the devices are rumored to come in black, blue, and purple shades.
However, Roland Quandt emphasized that this information is based solely on European market sources and may not be entirely accurate. He cautioned that the data came from retailers, so it should be taken with a grain of salt.
Considering the current rumors, the key difference between the dual-camera P20 and the triple-camera P20 Pro might lie in the main camera, which is expected to be 18 megapixels on the Pro version. This upgrade could lead to significant improvements in photo quality and video performance.
Currently, the highest score for Huawei cameras on DxOMark is the Mate 10 Pro, with a total of 100 points and a photography score of 97. Meanwhile, the iPhone X scores 101 points, and the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus holds the top spot with 104 points. Will the P20 Pro manage to surpass these benchmarks?
