At the LIGHTFAIR International Lighting Show in Las Vegas in May, Molex demonstrated the solid-state lighting market interconnect product line and a variety of innovative LED interconnect solutions.
Solderless LED lamp holder
Molex solderless array lamp holders are designed to allow lighting manufacturers to easily establish electrical connections between LED arrays and power supplies. Its unique two-wire crimping provides power to the LED array without the need for manual soldering or expensive surface mount technology. When designing and maintaining LED lighting applications, this product simplifies the installation process while providing the benefits of on-site maintenance.

Molex is developing a new generation of solid-state lighting products that use state-of-the-art Molded Interconnect Device (MID) technology to integrate lighting sources, electronic components, optical systems and thermal management on a 50mm diameter and 10mm high disk. This universal illumination source will be able to be placed directly into a PAR-type bulb, an A19 bulb, down-illumination or various other illumination sources currently under development. It is powered directly from the line voltage and is equivalent to a 75W bulb.
Molex will also showcase a wide range of fine pitch miniature connector products for the lighting market:
• Pico-EZmateTM Wire-to-Board Connector: Molex's 1.20mm (0.047") pitch Pico-EZmate connector features compact and low side height for two to five circuits for small wire-to-board applications The 1.55mm (0.061") is available in a height-adjustable version and is available in a 6.65mm (0.065") height range for 6 circuits.
• PicoBladeTM Wire-to-Board Connector: Molex's 1.25mm (0.049") PicoBladeTM system is designed for high-density wire harness applications. The PicoBlade is also capable of delivering 1.0A with a similar 2.00mm (0.079") pitch system, but with a smaller design.
• CLIK-MateTM Wire-to-Board Connector: Designed for applications that require a larger number of connectors in a small space to carry more signal lines, the system includes a unique tuning fork terminal concept available Low insertion force and firm mating contact.
• SlimStackTM Board-to-Board Connector: SlimStack 0.40mm connector for tight-package applications, offering the industry's broadest selection of low-side, ultra-narrow-width connectors with a variety of stack heights for space savings and design flexibility .
