Media Test Shows Little Improvement in iPad 2 Dual-Core Processors According to foreign media reports, preliminary tests showed that the dual-core A5 processor on the Apple iPad 2 tablet is not as fast as it should be, at least for ordinary network operations. According to Apple's introduction at the conference, the iPad 2 tablet is equipped with an upgraded version of the A5 processor, using a dual-core design based on the ARM Cortex A9 architecture. Jobs said at the press conference that the A5 processor uses a dual-core 1GHz clock speed design, and the graphics core performance is 9 times better than A4. According to the analysis, A5 is not based on the Cortex A9 core, but uses two identical A8 cores to form a dual core. If you use two Cortex A9 cores, the native computing performance increase should be more than double the single core A8.

The test found that with the same iOS 4.3 system, the iPad 2 was only 1.5 times faster than the iPad in the SunSpider JavaScript project. The iPad 2 with the iOS 4.2 system is 2.5 times slower than the device with the iOS 4.3 system. This shows that the iOS 4.3 system can bring a certain speed increase for the device, rather than the iPad 2 hardware itself. In other words, even if you use an iPad, if you upgrade to iOS 4.3 system, the operation will be more fun.
