China's deactivation of incandescent lamps will be finalized by 2018

Foreign media previously reported that China is expected to introduce a timetable for the elimination of incandescent lamps, and levy a consumption tax on incandescent lamps to accelerate the pace of elimination, while giving policy support to the energy-saving lamp industry. Wang Jintao, director of the China Illuminating Society, revealed to reporters that the National Development and Reform Commission is currently working out an "incandescence lamp elimination road map." The current preliminary plan is that after 2015, incandescent lamps of more than 100 watts will no longer be produced, and domestic use of incandescent lamps will no longer be used since 2018. light.

Phase-out plan

Wang Jinxi said that the "incandescence lamp elimination road map" plan will be announced after the "two sessions" this year and is still soliciting opinions.

Prior to the implementation of incandescent lamp phase-out plans in China, the European Union, the United States, and other countries have already proposed incandescent lamp elimination schedules. On March 9, 2007, EU countries reached an agreement to gradually replace energy-consuming incandescent bulbs with energy-saving lamps within two years. The British government announced that it plans to completely abolish traditional tungsten bulbs by 2011.

After these countries have announced plans to phase out incandescent lamps, China has also put the matter on the agenda. In December 2007, China implemented a financial subsidy system for the promotion of efficient lighting products. In July 2009, China, together with the United Nations Development Program and the Global Environment Facility, initiated the launch of "China's phase-out of incandescent lamps and accelerated promotion of energy-saving lamps."

“From the perspective of energy consumption, 70% of the electric energy consumed by the incandescent lamp is consumed by heat, and only 30% of the electricity becomes light, so it is said that it is energy-consuming,” Wang said.

After many countries proposed a phase-out schedule, incandescent lamp manufacturers in other countries have suspended production and provided opportunity for Chinese incandescent lamp exporters. According to the data from the China Lighting Association, the output of incandescent lamps for general lighting in China was 3.79 billion in 2009. Despite the financial crisis, sales in China's lighting industry still reached 260 billion yuan in 2009, a year-on-year increase of 13.04%.

Tens of thousands of companies face transformation
As the country may issue a policy to phase out incandescent lamps, it has long since passed on in the industry, and many manufacturers started the transition several years ago.

As a small light bulb factory, Monkey King Lighting's previous goal was to “be the most professional supplier of incandescent light bulbs”, with a monthly output of 500,000 and a small number of LED lights, but decided to convert all products into energy-saving lamps after the transition. .

Similar companies such as Monkey King Lighting, there are many in the country. According to the statistics of the China Lighting Association, there are more than 10,000 lighting appliance manufacturers in the country, mainly in Guangdong, Fujian, and Zhejiang.

Wang Jinlu believes that there are too many domestic manufacturers of incandescent lamps. If they are eliminated at once, they will have a lot of negative impacts, so they will be phased out. At the same time, the country is also studying the issue of corporate transformation.

“Our incandescent lamp production line will not expand its production 10 years ago. At present, the monthly output is maintained at more than 20 million, and it is close to 100 production lines.” A person in charge of the sales channel of the national lighting lighting OEM supporting channel of Foshan Lighting told this newspaper.

Foshan Lighting is the largest export-oriented enterprise in the national electric lighting industry. The person in charge believes that incandescent lamps with a power of more than 100 watts only account for about 10% of the company's total incandescent lamps. Therefore, eliminating incandescent lamps of more than 100 watts after 2015 will have little impact on the company. “This policy is good for large companies.” In his view, there is a 7-year buffer period to completely eliminate them from 2018. In addition, European countries and European countries introduced the policy to phase out incandescent lamps very early, prompting a large number of small and medium incandescent manufacturers abroad. Discontinued production, "The current incandescent lamp demand in foreign markets is still very large, and orders are also sufficient." However, energy-saving lamps are not perfect compared to incandescent lamps. Wang Jinxi said that the fluorescent lamps in energy-saving lamps are facing mercury pollution. It is a big test for how to recycle the fluorescent lamps after they are damaged. Although LED energy-saving lamps have no pollution, they are expensive.
