At the same time, the launch of the new product also unveiled Marvell's official entry into the Chinese LED driver market.

Marvell was founded in 1996, mainly as a chip, with a market revenue of $3.7 billion last year. Subject to the impact of the global financial crisis, Marvell adjusted its marketing strategy last year, and Q4 revenues also decreased. With the introduction of new LED driver chip products, LED will become Marvell's new profit growth point.
“The price of a single LED driver is very cheap, but the overall cost is very high. And we use the system solution to reduce the overall cost and promote the rapid popularization of high-end products. Currently, one system on the market needs about 3 dollars, and we can do 2 dollars. Lance said.
Reserve intelligence solution
In 2010, “Ten Cities and Ten Thousand Cities†became popular in the north and south of the Yangtze River, and LED road lighting became a hot spot in the market. For Marvell, road lighting is still a small market. Lance said, "For Marvell, we are looking at the indoor lighting market for thousands of households."
Therefore, when TI (Texas Instruments) quickly seized the road lighting market, Marvell is stepping up the development of indoor lighting, especially commercial lighting driver IC systems. However, subject to the weak global demand for LED lighting market last year, Marvell's LED driver chips have not improved much. Lance said that the main reason is that a single driver chip is not favored by the market.
