High-efficiency energy-saving lamps still have two difficulties in replacing incandescent lamps

Incandescent lamps use only 5% of their energy for lighting, and the remaining 95% are all consumed by heat. The energy-saving lamp can convert 90% of the electric energy into light energy, achieve the same light effect, consume 1/5 of the energy of the incandescent lamp, and the life is generally 5 times that of the incandescent lamp.

Recently, the relevant leaders of the National Development and Reform Commission said at the International Symposium on Eliminating Inefficient Lighting Products that the country is currently developing a roadmap for eliminating inefficient lighting products, and plans to phase out different types of incandescent lamps and promote efficient lighting products.

Eliminate incandescent lamps for no more than 10 years

The so-called road map is the overall plan for when to completely eliminate incandescent lamps and how to eliminate them. The industry believes that the time to eliminate incandescent lamps will not exceed 10 years, which means that alternatives to incandescent lamps, energy-saving fluorescent lamps, LED lamps, energy-saving halogen lamps, metal halide lamps, will occupy the market gap after the incandescent lamps exit. In addition to the timetable, the NDRC is currently studying the supporting policies and special plans for the phase-out of incandescent lamps to promote energy-saving lamps.

However, some experts believe that there are still two major difficulties in replacing incandescent lamps with high-efficiency energy-saving lamps. First of all, the quality of energy-saving lamps is still uneven, and some lighting fixtures are not suitable for energy-saving lamps. Secondly, compared with traditional incandescent lamps, the price of energy-saving lamps is still much higher. At present, the financial subsidy policy to encourage efficient lighting is too single. All in all, energy-saving lamps and LED lights can solve the two problems of cost and environmental protection, who will become the dominant source of the future.

The environmental cost of a large number of energy-saving lamps

At present, the application of energy-saving lamps in China is more popular. The National Development and Reform Commission has repeatedly stated that it will focus on promoting high-quality, environmentally-friendly and efficient lighting products using low-mercury, mercury-fixing technology and clean production processes. At the same time, encourage enterprises to clean production, carry out pilot projects for recycling waste lamps, and establish recycling mechanisms for used lamps. .

It is understood that starting from 2008, China has started financial subsidies to promote high-efficiency lighting products, and subsidized 50% and 30% respectively for urban and rural residents and large users who use energy-saving lamps. In 2008-2009, the financial subsidies promoted 210 million high-efficiency lighting products, saving 8.8 billion kWh per year and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 8.8 million tons. This year plans to promote more than 150 million high-efficiency lighting products. From the current implementation effect, the energy saving effect is very obvious.

However, just as the energy-saving lamps were in full swing, they were invisible. According to media reports, an ordinary energy-saving lamp contains an average of 0.5 milligrams of mercury, and 1 milligram of mercury infiltrates into the ground, causing pollution of about 360 tons of water. Implementing a mandatory recycling mechanism has become a major event for 100,000 people. At the same time, the lights will pay an unpredictable environmental cost. However, it is not easy to establish a compulsory recovery mechanism. China's current recycling system for waste products is the most frustrating shortcoming.

LED core technology is in control of foreign companies

Some experts predict that the most likely replacement for incandescent lamps at present is self-ballasted LED lights. There is no environmental pressure on the development of LED lamps, and the supply of raw materials for phosphors is also abundant. However, experts from the China Lighting Association said that although people are optimistic about the LED market, domestic companies are still mainly concentrated in downstream areas such as packaging and applications. Several core technologies of LED are still in the hands of foreign companies: one is a high-power chip. American Cree is one of the most important LED chip manufacturers; the other is phosphor, and everyone basically needs to use Japanese Nichia's products.

However, fortunately, it can no longer be reduced to the downstream assembly workshop has become the consensus of domestic LED companies. In January of this year, Sanan Optoelectronics invested 12 billion yuan to establish an LED base. Sanan Optoelectronics currently has an annual production capacity of 450,000 epitaxial wafers and 15 billion chips. Wang Lianghai, vice president of Tongfang Co., Ltd., also said that he has mastered the core technology of industrial production of high-power chips and epitaxial wafers. In the future, we will focus on developing high-end chips and then supply them to domestic downstream packaging plants. Wang Lianghai said that in the future, with the government's introduction of a series of support policies, Tongfang will also launch relevant civilian products and enter the family market with broader market prospects.

Gaidonghai China incandescent lamp with an annual output of 3.4 billion

On September 1, 2009, the EU stepped out of the first step of completely stopping the use of incandescent lamps, no longer producing or importing incandescent lamps of more than 100 watts, and will stop using incandescent lamps step by step in the next three years. In November 2009, China gradually phased out incandescent lamps and accelerated the bidding for energy-saving lamps. This is the result of China's determination to save energy and reduce emissions.

An industry insider told reporters: At present, the annual usage of incandescent lamps in the world is 15 billion. China is the largest producer of incandescent lamps, with an annual output of 3.4 billion, of which about half are exported.
