Boomerang, a startup in New Jersey, used robotics to launch a car service that can adjust and move vehicles in the parking lot just like the Rubik's Cube. “In the same size space, we have twice as many vehicles as the average parking lot,” said company CEO Mark Patterson. 1. The driver enters the parking area, adjusts the parking space, and opens a large steel bracket. An automated device slides into the bottom of the bracket and lifts the car two inches (about 5.08 cm).

2. The automated equipment slides along the metal track laid on the ground and enters an open parking area.

3. The lift transfers the car to the appropriate floor. No slopes, lights or ventilation are required throughout the site.

4. The car will stop in the parking space accurately with an error of no more than 1/4 inch (approximately 0.64 cm).

5. When a car is needed, the driver can notify the parking system via the smartphone.
