According to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), BlackRock, the world's largest asset management agency, has increased its stake in Apple to 322 million shares.
According to the documents, the BlackRock Group currently holds about 6.1% of Apple's outstanding shares, which is more than 5.7% in January 2016.
Based on the current price of $119 per share, the total valuation of the Apple shares held by BlackRock Group is approximately $38.4 billion.
However, Apple is not the only big-name technology company with a large stake in BlackRock. In addition to Apple, the BlackRock Group currently holds more than 5% of the shares in companies such as Facebook, Hewlett-Packard and Microsoft.
However, Apple is a particularly heart-warming company for BlackRock's chief operating officer, Sue Wagner. Wagner also joined Apple's board of directors in 2014.
Earlier this week, Apple's share price once rose to a new high in the past 14 months. In the regular US stock market trading on Friday, Apple shares rose 0.22 US dollars to close at 120 US dollars, an increase of 0.18%. Apple's current market value is about 630.94 billion US dollars.
