Traditional LCD TVs fell by 80% in 10 years

With the drop in the price of traditional LCD TVs, the pace of delisting is getting faster and faster.

Traditional LCD TV prices fall to the bottom

An interview with the Yangcheng Evening News reporter learned that LCD televisions had just been listed ten years ago, and the price of 32-inch prices was frequently tens of thousands, which was regarded as luxury goods at that time. However, after the popularity of traditional LCD TVs in 2008 and 2009, the price of 32-inch LCD TVs quickly dropped to around 5,000 yuan. In the past three years, the price of 32-inch LCD TVs has dropped, and the average price is around 1600 yuan.

On the other hand, the drop in the price of LED TVs also makes LCD TVs that are already on the verge of being eliminated no longer have price advantages. Yangcheng Evening News reporter learned from Guangzhou Gome that this year's LED TV prices fell about 500 yuan compared with last year. Taking a 32-inch color TV as an example, the average price of a 32-inch LCD TV is about 1,600 yuan, while the average price of an LED TV with the same specifications is only 1900 yuan. The average price of 42-inch LCD TVs and LED TVs is around 3,000 yuan, which is almost equivalent.

LCD TVs account for only two percent

Liu Heqing, a senior observer of the home appliances industry, believes: "LCD is just a transitional product between traditional CRT TVs and LED TVs. Delisting is only a matter of time."

In fact, the Yangcheng Evening News reporter saw the above signs in a number of store sales. At a store in Suning, Huanshi Dong Road, Guangzhou, a shopping guide told reporters: “There are only two or three LCD TVs in the entire store. There are very few customers who buy LCD TVs now.” A consumer who is buying color TVs told reporters: "If you are in the same price range, I'm definitely more willing to choose LED TV."

A person from Guangzhou Gome also told the Yangcheng Evening News reporter: “The LED TV is already the absolute mainstream in the market, with sales accounting for more than 80%, and LCD TVs and plasma TVs combining less than 20%”.
