This case of the production and sale of counterfeit brand-name lighting network cases, the amount exceeded 10 million!

On the afternoon of January 3, the Sharp Lawn Branch of the Public Security Bureau in Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province, held a press conference to officially announce the results of a major crackdown on counterfeit lighting products. As the nationwide "anti-counterfeiting cluster campaign" draws to a close across multiple provinces and cities, a large-scale network involved in the production and sale of fake lighting products has been dismantled. According to reports, the criminal operation spanned several cities in East and North China, with an estimated value exceeding 10 million yuan. In March 2017, the Sharp Lawn Branch began investigating a case after discovering that a branded lamp sold by a local lighting company was suspected of being counterfeit. The lamps were sent to the Shanghai headquarters of a leading lighting control company for expert analysis, which confirmed their illegal nature. Following months of investigation, the police identified Han Mou, a 58-year-old man from Yongnian County, Hebei Province, as the main suspect. It was revealed that he managed four warehouses and three fake stores in Taiyuan. The investigation then expanded to Beijing, Jiangsu, Hebei, Hubei, and Shandong, uncovering that the counterfeit lamps originated from four production sites: two factories in Wuhan, one in Langfang, Hebei, and another in Changzhou, Jiangsu. With solid evidence in hand, the Taiyuan police reported the case to the Ministry of Public Security and launched the "5.12" anti-counterfeiting operation nationwide. On July 28, the police arrested Han, Zhao, Meng, and Guo in Taiyuan, seizing four warehouses and three sales outlets. In addition, five specialized teams were dispatched to Beijing, Jiangsu, Hubei, Hebei, and Shandong to assist local authorities in conducting ground-level investigations. From July 21 to September 14, under the coordination of the Ministry of Public Security, law enforcement agencies in Changzhou, Langfang, Wuhan, Linyi, and other cities arrested 14 suspects, seized four production sites, and confiscated over 460,000 counterfeit trademarks. To date, the operation has resulted in the resolution of eight anti-counterfeiting cases, with 18 criminal suspects arrested, four fake production sites, three fake shops, and seven counterfeit warehouses seized. A large quantity of counterfeit brand-name lamps and trademarks were also recovered, with the total value involved reaching 10.57 million yuan. According to the investigation, since March 2016, Han’s sales department had been purchasing counterfeit branded lamps from Wuhan, Langfang (Hebei), and Changzhou (Jiangsu), storing them in Xinghualing District, Taiyuan. These goods were then distributed to three retail stores in Taiyuan and three outlets in Linyi, Shandong. Zhao was responsible for business operations, while Meng and Guo managed the sales points and warehouses. The value of the counterfeit goods in Taiyuan alone exceeded 5 million yuan. The case is currently under further investigation.
