LLC Introduces New Linear Hall IC ALS31000 for Automotive and Industrial Markets

Allegro MicroSystems, LLC Introduces New Linear Hall IC ALS31000 for Automotive and Industrial Markets. The IC targets new applications for linear output Hall effect sensor ICs such as displacement and angular position. These new applications require higher accuracy and smaller Package size. Allegro's ALS31000 linear Hall-effect sensor IC is designed to meet these two requirements.

The accuracy of the ALS31000 is improved by optimizing at the end of the line. It also has non-volatile memory to optimize device sensitivity and the quiescent voltage output of a specific application or circuit (QVO: output in the absence of a magnetic field). By programming the temperature coefficient for sensitivity and QVO in Allegro's end-of-line test, optimum performance over the entire operating temperature range of the device can be maintained.

The proportional Hall-effect sensor IC provides a voltage output proportional to the applied magnetic field. Its static voltage output is adjusted to approximately 0.7 V and its output sensitivity is set to 2.4 mV/G. The device's characteristics make it ideal for use in high precision applications. And automotive and industrial applications that operate over the extended temperature range of -40°C to 150°C. The BiCMOS monolithic IC in the ALS31000 integrates a Hall element, a temperature compensation circuit to reduce the inherent sensitivity drift of the Hall element, a small-signal high-gain amplifier, a clamped low-impedance output stage, and a proprietary dynamic offset Elimination of technology.
The ALS31000 sensor IC family uses the LH suffix package format, which is a SOT-23W, miniature, and flat package, suitable for surface mount applications, and is lead-free, with 100% matte tin leadframe plating.
