2010 Analog IC Market TI ranked first

Databeans, a US market research company, released its 2010 simulation IC sales rankings (in English). According to the release data, the supplier ranked first is the same as in 2009, and it is still Texas Instruments (TI). The company’s sales amounted to 6.19 billion US dollars, accounting for 14.6% of the market.

In TI's recent settlement report (the fourth quarter of 2010), the company’s overall sales increased by 17.3% over the same period of last year, reaching US$3.525 billion. The sales of analog ICs increased by 20.2% year-on-year to US$1.518 billion. The main driver for this growth is industrial device ICs. Including high-performance analog ICs, HVAL (mass production of analog ICs and standard logic ICs) and power management ICs. ICs for consumer products also perform better. In particular, ICs for computers and televisions have contributed to the increase in sales.

The second place after TI is the ST Microelectronics, an Italian-French joint venture. The sales amounted to 4.291 billion U.S. dollars and gained a market share of 10.1%. The third place is Infineon Technologies AG, with sales of 3.328 billion US dollars and a market share of 7.9%. The fourth place is Analog Devices, with sales of 2.482 billion U.S. dollars and a market share of 5.9%. The second to fourth places are ranked in the same sales as in 2009. The fifth place is No. 6 Maxim Integrated Products in 2009, with sales of US$1.936 billion and a market share of 4.6%.

In addition, the overall sales of the simulated market in 2010 were US$4,228 billion, which was a substantial increase of approximately 32.1% from US$32 billion in 2009.
