Research on NB-IoT Network Business Value and Networking Scheme

This year, the number of Internet terminals is rapidly approaching saturation. Under the impetus of new applications, it is expected that the number of Internet terminals will be surpassed by IoT terminals by 2017. By 2021, the number of IoT terminals will quickly reach more than twice that of Internet terminals, as shown in Figure 1.

With the deepening of IoT applications, the average annual growth rate of global IoT terminals will be more than 20%, as shown in Table 1. According to the different needs of the Internet of Things market segment, many things will be connected through the capillary network. NB-IOT (Narrow Band Internet of Things) technology emerges in this business scenario with deep/wide coverage. The outstanding features of low power consumption, low cost and large-scale connection have become deterministic high-growth services for telecom operators and have broad commercial value.

Technological progress

In May 2014, in the research project of GERAN group “FS_IoT_LC”, three technologies were proposed, which were extended coverage of GSM technology, NB-CIoT technology and NB-LTE technology. Among them, NB-CIoT was jointly proposed by Huawei, Qualcomm and Neul. I planted it and agreed to NB-IoT technology at the RAN#69 plenary meeting in September 2015. The progress of NB-IoT is shown in Table 2.

In April 2016, the NB-IoT physical layer standard was frozen in 3GPP R13. In June 2016, the NB-IoT core standard was officially frozen in 3GPP R13. The performance standard will be finalized in September 2016. It is expected that by December 2016, the final conformance test page will be frozen and 2017 NB-IoT will be officially commercialized.

Technical comparison

There are many kinds of IoT communication technologies, which can be divided into two categories from the transmission distance. One type is short-distance transmission technology, representing ZigBee, WiFi, Bluetooth, Z-Wave, typical applications are smart homes; one type is LPWAN (Low-Power Wide-Area Network), such as LoRazepam, Cat -1 and eMTC, etc., typical application scenarios such as smart meter reading. Compared with other technologies in the LPWAN family, NB-IoT has outstanding features. The comparison table is as follows:

Optical Fiber Distribution Frame

Optical Fiber Distribution Frame, Optical Distribution Frames,Fiber Optic Distribution Frame,Fiber Optic Distribution Frame/ ODF is a high-capacity, high-density fiber distribution frame, suitable composition and distribution of fibers in optical access network to achieve the fiber optic lines connection, distribution and scheduling ,the 19" rack-mounted patch panel, and fiber optic splitter can be loaded inside.
