Huawei will build a plant in India and plan to achieve a 10% market share next year.

According to foreign media reports, China's Huawei, the world's third-largest smartphone maker, will soon begin manufacturing smartphones in India, and related issues will be announced in about a month.

“We have already obtained a manufacturing license. We will announce our local manufacturing plan in a short period of time... within a month,” said Peter Zhai, president of Huawei's Huawei India Consumer Business Group.

Huawei expects India to become the world's second largest mobile device market after China.

“As an international brand, we hope to develop our Indian business at the right time. India is becoming the second largest mobile device market in the world after China. We will actively expand our business in India. There are only a few thousand stores in India. Selling Huawei mobile phones, we plan to increase this number to 50,000 by the end of this year."

Huawei has been in the Indian market for about 16 years and established a research and development center in Bangalore in 1999.

As the world's top smartphone manufacturer, Huawei's current market share in India is minimal. Huawei plans to rely on dual-brand strategy and offline sales channels to expand Huawei's mobile phone market share in India to 10%. “We want to be the leader in the Indian market.” Peter Zhai said, “With our two smartphone brands, our first goal is to achieve a 10% market share by the end of next year.”
