On January 8th, both Alto Electronics and Feile Audio made significant announcements regarding their recent bidding successes, with the winning contracts exceeding 100 million yuan. In the context of smart city development and landscape lighting, several lighting engineering firms have been securing large-scale projects, showcasing the growing demand in this sector.
**Alto Electronics Subsidiary Secures Major Contract**
On January 8, Alto Electronics announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Shenzhen Qianbaihui Lighting Engineering Co., Ltd. ("Qianbaihui"), has successfully won a major project. The company received the "Notice of Winning the Bid" from the Qingdao Municipal Service and Public Resource Transaction Management Office. According to the notice, Qianbaihui is the successful bidder for the "General Contracting for the Design and Construction of the Lighting Improvement Project on Nanjing Road and Fuzhou Road (Southern Part of the City)."
The project's bid price amounts to RMB 110,284,300, which represents 24.13% of Alto Electronics’ 2016 audited operating income of RMB 457,079,739.05 and 70.37% of Qianbaihui’s 2016 audited operating income of RMB 156,718,868.86. If the project is signed and executed successfully, it is expected to positively impact Alto Electronics' 2018 annual performance. This win will also strengthen Qianbaihui's industry presence and support the company’s growth in the smart lighting market.
**Feile Audio Wins "Smart Liping" Project**
Also on January 8, Feile Audio announced that it, along with a consortium including Tibet Mingfeng Capital Investment Management Co., Ltd., Guiyang Building Survey and Design Co., Ltd., and Sichuan Yaming Lighting Co., Ltd. (a subsidiary of Beijing Shenan Investment Group), has secured the "Smart Liping" poverty alleviation tourism supporting project in Liping County.
The project involves the construction of smart landscape systems, smart lighting, smart parking, and smart sanitation, and will be implemented under the PPP model, specifically using the BOT (DBFOT) operation mode. The estimated total investment is RMB 1,185.63 million, with a cooperation period of 17 years—comprising a 2-year construction phase and a 15-year operational period.
Feile Audio stated that this project will help the company gain more hands-on experience, enhance its competitiveness in smart city and smart lighting engineering, and support the development of its platform-based operations centered around lighting projects. The company aims to become a leading general contractor and operator in the smart city sector. Once the project starts, revenue will be recognized based on actual progress, which is expected to positively affect Feile Audio’s sales in 2018 and beyond.
With these two major wins, both companies are positioning themselves as key players in the rapidly expanding smart city and lighting engineering markets.
