The increase in production and the traditional off-season effect have exacerbated the decline in TV panel prices. In April and May, the unit price of 32-inch panels fell below $10, not to mention larger panels.
In response to this situation, BOE and CSOT reduced the production of 32-inch panels and converted part of their 8.5G factory output to 40-inch and 43-inch panels. With the gradual reduction of 32-inch panel inventory and the arrival of the traditional peak season in the third quarter, a peak in orders for 32-inch panels has appeared, which has caused Chinese panel manufacturers to increase the unit price of these panels by 2-3 US dollars in July. It also increased the price of 40-inch and 43-inch panels by $1.
The market is soaring month by month
Industry insiders predict that in the third quarter of this year, the prices of 32-inch, 40-inch and 43-inch TV panels will rise month by month, while the price of 50-inch panels will remain flat. The supply and demand balance of 55-inch panels in July will remain stable before a slight rebound in August and September.
As for the 65-inch TV panel, due to increased market demand, prices may return to a stable state in the third quarter. According to sources, BOE will gradually increase the production capacity of its 10.5G wafer fab in the third quarter to develop the 65-inch panel market, while Taiwan and South Korean manufacturers are also striving to maintain their respective market shares, so 65-inch TV panel prices may rise.
